The WVCDL seeks to promote legislation in the West Virginia Legislature to eliminate unfair restrictions on law-abiding citizens’ right to keep and bear arms and promote public awareness of the lawful use of firearms in self-defense. What the WVCDL Facebook group is, and is not. What it is: 1. It is a place to discuss WV specific firearms, hunting, and self defense law and policy. 2. It is the “front office” of the WVCDL 3. A place to behave courteously and professionally. (Even if that sometimes means being very direct.) 4. A place where political party doesn’t matter, and the issue does. 5. The Facebook page for the most effective civil rights organization in WV. What it is not: 1. A place for the encouragement of breaking any law or violation of property or other rights. 2. An internet forum for discussion of 9mm v. 45, what caliber for aardvark, and which magazine floorplate works best in your 1911. 3. A place to discuss national issues (with VERY limited exceptions) 4. A place to post memes. 5. A place for profanity and unprofessional conduct. 6. A place for slamming (or promoting) one party or another. (partisan talk)

The first amendment applies to government prosecution for exercise of free speech. The WVCDL is not the government, and this page is WVCDL property, and our message to control. Therefore, violating the standards of conduct outlined above may result in immediate removal from the group.
